OTTAWA, Ont. (11/11/18) — Guy Mandeville, C.D., awaits his turn to speak during the Remembrance Day ceremonies at the Aboriginal Veterans Memorial in Confederation Park. Mandeville served in the military for 42 years. He explains his medals of service: “I served 7 years in Germany, 2 tours in Alert, a peace keeping service medal, Cyprus, Egypt, Golan twice, Croatia, Rwanda, East Timor, this is the The Canadian Diamond Jubilee and the Canadian Declaration with three bars which means 42 years of service.” He now lives in Trenton, Ont., where he teaches native studies once a week at Brighton High school and serves as the Senator with the Veterans council for the Metis Nation of Ontario.
